Blog 4- Chapter 8

In chapter 8, we are reminded that our first drafts are only for us. Yes, Mat will see it, but he will look at it the same way we do- a beginning. In Steps for Choosing a Genre to Compose In, step three tells us to think about our audience. I know my topic and purpose already but I need to figure out who my audience is. Step four tells us to use rhetorical appeals, and I need to brainstorm different appeals I can use in my essay. I liked the idea of creating a revision list. I have never created a revision list but I think it will help me be more successful in the writing process. I have never heard of Your Statement; I don’t know if Mat requires us to write on but it is an interesting concept.
