Blog 5- Chapter 11

Updated: Apr 27, 2018

Chapter 11 is all about identity and how to portray it in your writing. I identify as a disabled student, and all three of my projects revolve around that identity. I want my projects to portray not only my identity, but the lack of attention that is given to people like me. I want my paper for Project Two to be the voice for others who are not comfortable enough to speak up for themselves. I will share about my identity and my community in a straightforward manner, trying to encourage change on the Florida State University campus. I am not going to complain, but rather give constructive criticism. For Project Three I want to create a Facebook group for FSU students with disabilities; I think it is important for disabled individuals to realize that they are not alone and belong to a greater community. The way I approach this Fcebook group will not be the same as my Project Two paper. I want people to join the group and feel safe expressing themselves. It is very hard to live with a disability and accepting it as part of your identity is something many individuals struggle to do.

Also, when I saw “From Snoop” I thought it was going to be something from Snoop Dogg…..very disappointing :(
